Working closely with Istanbul Municipality's CIO and data analytics giant SAS, NDA developed an investment program to improve the city's traffic management capability through a pilot of advanced AI software and machine learning tools customized for urban traffic analysis.

IMM seeks to apply predictive data analytics to support and inform the city’s transportation master plan.  The project will introduce an advanced data analytics platform to assess real-time road traffic conditions, develop forecast models, optimize mass transit bus routing and stops, introduce dynamic traffic control, and improve citizen safety and convenience through big data-enabled mobility applications.

Combined with other sensor and networking technology, the system will measure and predict transportation demand.  Data science will improve route efficiency, reduce congestion, accommodate changing traffic patterns brought on by coronavirus, and lead to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
